Our TY students have had a busy few months participating in a wide variety of activities. We welcomed former Largy College students, Stevie McKenna and Aaron McKenna back to the school, who delivered a talk to our TY Students about the life of a Professional Boxer. This followed by a tough boxing session, which the students excelled in. We would like to wish both Stevie and Aaron the very best of luck for the future.
Shane McCann, Regional Development Officer for Ulster GAA, visited our school and delivered an inclusion workshop to our TY students. The students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity of playing Wheelchair Gaelic and developing their skills throughout the session.
A great afternoon of craic and entertainment was had courtesy of James McGrath from JivinGym. The students demonstrated excellent dancing ability to their favourite Derek Ryan songs. I am sure that they will have many opportunities to showcase their new skills on a night out.
Our TY class also enjoyed a fantastic Karate Session with Retford Barber. It was a great opportunity for our students to learn a new martial-arts discipline. The session focused on kicking, striking, and defensive blocking with arms and legs. The students greatly enjoyed the session.
