TY Community Module - Clones Tidy Towns
Well done to the TY Community Module class who helped tidy up the Round Tower Cemetery. The class met Jim Flanagan (Clones Tidy Towns) and Ann Corley (Cassandra Hand Heritage, Tourism and Genealogy Centre). The students worked hard and also enjoyed a history talk from Ann Corley.
TY Community Module Fundraising
Our Transition Year Community Module class took part in a bucket collection in Super Valu in Clones in aid of LA519. LA519 represents Luke Aughey’s initials and the month and year he died. Luke's parents, Barry and Deirdre, want Luke’s legacy to make a difference and help those that need it. That is why they also want the ‘LA’ in LA519 to stand for ‘Local Action’ to work towards preventing suicide. The funds raised by our students will go directly into helping the young people living in the area by alleviating the cost of counselling or therapy and by promoting the already existing resources so that those in the locality realise there are many places and people to turn to in time of crisis and help those that need it.
Students raised a total of 1250 euro, well done to Ms Fitzpatrick and her TY Community Module Class
