The Dream Space Ambassador Program is a flagship Dream Space Student Leadership and training program, supported by the Dream Space Team in Dublin and Belfast. The program is open to schools in the Republic of Ireland (RoI) and Northern Ireland (NI). It is designed for students in 5th class (equivalent to Primary 6/7 in Northern Ireland) and TY (Transition Year in the Republic of Ireland, equivalent to 4th/5th year in Northern Ireland). This program is open to students who have a passion for learning and a desire to support, train, and mentor others in STEM education.

Minecraft Education is our canvas, and living in space is our goal! We are challenging team of 4-6 students (from Primary 6 to Year 10) to create and build a habitat on the moon within Minecraft Education.

In 2024, Largy students will particiapte in their first, FIRST LEGO League. This programme introduces science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to children ages 4-16* through fun, exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program, helping today’s students and teachers build a better future together.

In 2023, TY students participated in Cyber Schools Quest ran by ZeroDays, TUD and MS DreamSpace. To mark the end of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, more than 400 secondary school students from post primary schools across the country gathered in Microsoft Ireland’s campus in Leopardstown, Dublin for the CyberSchools Quest event. The gathering was the final in a series of events held during October and focused on equipping the students with cyber security skills and knowledge and opening their minds to the career opportunities within this growing sector.
Every year Largy students particiapate in Safer Internet Day or (SID). This an EU wide initiative to promote a safer internet for all users, especially young people.
It is promoted in Ireland by Oide Technology in Education and Webwise.

The IT department in Largy College realises the many uses and actively seeks to equip students with the know how and digital skills to be able to effectively use day to day technology.
Scratch is a visual programming language that encourages the development of essential coding skills through fun and interactive learning. It challenges students to create stories, games and animations using software. It encourages innovation and creativity while giving them a taste of possible future careers in the growing IT sector.
