The Student Enterprise Programme
The Student Enterprise Programme is an initiative run by the Network of Local Enterprise Offices of Ireland, is Ireland’s largest and most successful student enterprise programme with over 26,000 second level students taking part each year.
Students from 1st year to 6th year get to set up and run their own business and find out what it’s really like to be an entrepreneur by taking part in this 8 month long enterprise education learning programme. There are three categories: Junior (1st year students), Intermediate (2nd/3rd year students) and Senior (4th, 5th,6th year, LCA, LCVP and Youth Reach).
In 2023, Largy had 4 TY students and one group of 4 Ty students represent the school. We also had a group of 2 students from 3rd year and a group of 4 students from 1st year. Overall Largy had 3 winners in the regional competition for TY, Shannon Wiggins and Eimear McMahon won Special Awards and Katie McCaffrey, Katie McDonald, Keelin Quigley and Rachel Hickey (Chapped) won the overall competition. 3rd year students Denisa Horvat and Clodagh Reilly won the intermediate competition and 1st year students Ciara McPhillips, Zoe Morgan, Yvie Carron and Gemma Smith won the Junior Competition.
In 2024, Largy continued it's success with CKE Candles representing Monaghan in the national final. Awards where also won for the best Solo Entrepeneur (Clodagh O'Reilly) and Innovation runner up to Snap Connect Charms (Shona, Rocha, Rachel and Ella).
In 2025, 2 students will represent Monaghan in the national final for MW sport and 1 student in first year will represent Monaghan in the Junior Category for Bits and Bobs. Largy students also won awards for Innovation, Best Display runner up.
