The TY outdoor class have enjoyed a variety of activity over the past 11 weeks. Students had the opportunity to participate in a Ram and Row class in Ramfit Gym in Castleblayney. Students also attended 4 weeks of horse-riding lessons in Mullaghmore Equestrian Centre as well as participating in Orienteering in Rossmore park and Bowling in GR8 Entertainment in Castleblayney.

The astronomy class had a fantastic day visiting Armagh Planetarium. They explored the night sky and other planets in the dome theatre. There was fierce competition between students as they made rockets which they launched. Students also got the chance to chat with astrophysicists and explore the exhibition area. The trip was “out of this world”

The Road Safety and First Aid class enjoyed an online talk from the RSA on Road Safety and the Law in Ireland. They have also carried out class presentations and completed training in First Aid and CPR.

The Food Module class enjoyed a cooking demonstration from Chef Gearóid Lynch proprietor of The Olde Post Inn and author of “My Gluten Free Kitchen”. Also, in preparation for the TY Christmas Cake Decorating competition students participated in a workshop with Brid Tervan, Pastry Chef in the Olde Post Inn. What an amazing opportunity for our TY students who thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Art and Architecture students secured a place on the 2021/22 Architects in Schools programme. An architect has been assigned to the school, who will deliver 12 hours of workshops over the year through these modules.
