Congratulations to the Junior Certificate students of Largy College who received their results on Wednesday 12th September. Once again, the results were very pleasing, with many students receiving ‘A’s in Honors Level papers. The student who achieved the best Junior Certificate result was Caitlin Connolly, daughter of Enda and Helen Connolly, Gortnawinney, Clones, Co. Monaghan.
Caitlin, along with many other Transition Year students, is now actively involved in her Transition Year Programme where she is experiencing new challenges and opportunities. Already, Caitlin and her class have participated in a new innovative pilot road safety initiative hosted by Road Safety Ireland and specifically designed for young adult road users. The Transition Year students are encouraged to actively participate and take full advantage of the many new learning opportunities that the Transition Year presents.
This year’s Transition Year students have a tremendous platform to work from, given the many achievements of previous year groups. Transition Year allows students to participate and compete in competitions at a National Level. Recently, our Transition Year
students have achieved at the highest level and students have gone on to win two National Awards with Young Social Innovators including the Gold Award and they were also the overall winners of the Concern Debating Competition. We look forward to future successes with our Transition Year Students.
Management, Staff, Students together with their Parents will collectively strive to consolidate these academic, sporting and extra-curricular successes in the year ahead.
